| Alexis Harte (Hell's Ditch Dozen) |
So, Alexis Harte, imagine that you’re travelling across wild country on the way home from a gig. You’re travelling alone, and when your vehicle (inevitably) breaks down you have yourself for company. Assume that you have a CD player or record player which still works, and that you expect to be rescued fairly soon, it’s a questionnaire, not a horror film! With all this time to think, please answer these questions, and tell us your deepest secrets.

 | | | A track you would dance to? "I wish I had a date"- Fishbone A track you would make love to? Wait a second, I thought I was broken down BY MYSELF. Now, that didn't stop me from dancing alone to Fishbone, but this is going a little too far.... A place you would rather be? Ass-deep in Escalante River/Canyon, Utah. A book you would like to read? "Car Mechanics for Idiots"- author unknown A film you would like to watch? Birdman of Alcatraz Food you would really like to eat? Pasta Putanesca What would you have to drink? A bottle of good dolcetto d'Alba. Who, in history, would you most like to talk to? Former President George H. W. Bush circa 1940, (I would have vigorously urged him to abstain for purely moral reasons..). Who would you most like to write a song with (alive or dead)? John Lennon, Tom Waits, or else Joni Mitchell circa 1970 (well, errr, hang out for a month, than write a song, OK?). Who would you most like to sing a duet with? Louis Prima Three other tracks, or albums, to get you through the night? 1. Say a little Prayer for you- Aretha Franklin 2. Across the Universe- Beatles 3. You Shook Me all Night Long AC/DC (for when I'm nodding off from 1 and 2) repeat until sun comes up Alexis Harte is a product of the West Coast of America, but his song writing influences seem to be more UK based. An accomplished guitarist and intelligent lyricist, his recent tour gave UK (and more specifically American UK house concert) audiences a taste of his versatility as a solo performer and with luck we’ll get to see his band as well next time. He just released a new CD, Tumbling, which can be sniffed and scrutinized here.... (www.cdbaby.com/alexis3) and he just found out that a song from the CD will be appearing in a new film called "Careless" with Colin Hanks.
