Americana UK Launches Acoustic Dustbowl Evenings

twice a month in Liverpool, kind of like the Electric Dustbowl but not electric

Well we gave it a go once upon a time and the dull haze we've found ourselves in since was beginning to become so all empowering that we've decided to start things up again, we want to live!  Americana UK Promotions (that's the live music promotion bit of the site run by Barry Jones and AUK editor Mark Whitfield in Liverpool, and on occasion by AUK deputy editor Jeremy Searle in Leicester) will launch Acoustic Dustbowl and Acoustic Dustbowl Too in Liverpool city centre this Friday.

Acoustic Dustbowl takes place on the second Friday of the month at the View Two Gallery on Mathew Street, a really lovely and unusual space for live music. The opening night is Friday 11th January 2013, kicking off at 8.30pm - It will usually be a ticketed event, with the price dependent on the headline guest, but this first event will be free entry. It’s hosted by The Southbound Attic Band with special guests including The Good Intentions, Liverpool Acoustic’s Stuart Todd, and local legend Stan Ambrose.

Acoustic Dustbowl Too is a free monthly event which takes place on the last Saturday of the month at D&N on St James Street with an 8.30pm start. The opening night is Saturday 26th January 2013 and features a full set from The Good Intentions, along with special guest Elijah James.

Keep an eye out for who'll be playing what in our listings section, and if you're around this Friday, come and say hello!

  • Beams "Just Rivers" MAPL, 2013

Let’s get this out the way, it’s a rubbish name, Beams, they don’t sound like a band called Beams, and that will put people off – don’t let it. The opening tracks are really terrific, and the double vocal is super ace. I really love it.
