Willie Nelson Hosts Fundraiser for Blast Victims

plant not far from where he grew up

Have a good weekend people - down to zero degrees again tonight in Liverpool so that was a good Spring ay? Billboard reports: "Willie Nelson said Thursday that he will turn an upcoming Texas concert into a benefit for victims of the explosion at a fertilizer plant not far from where he grew up. The country music icon still has a home in Abbott, Texas, about five miles north of West, which was rocked by the explosion Wednesday night that left an unknown number of people dead and more than 160 hurt. He remembers riding his bike the short distance between the towns and still has many friends and family there."

Crazy Horse Guitarist: "This Might Be Our Last Tour"

"I'm 64 and I'm the baby of the band"

Rolling Stone reports: "Crazy Horse guitarist Frank "Poncho" Sampedro has been playing with Neil Young for 40 years, but he's worried their current world tour might be the last one. "I just think once it stops it's going to be kind of hard to get it rolling again," he says on the phone from his home in Hawaii. "My gut tells me this is really the last tour. I hate saying their ages, but I'm 64 and I'm the baby of the band. I love playing and we're playing as good as we ever did, but at any time something could go down with any one of us.""

A star studded celebration of the days when folk bought sheet music (in their millions) 'The Beautiful Old Turn Of The Century Songs' is a project curated by Paul Marstellar and Gabriel Rhodes. A year in the making this pair have persuaded a host of luminaries to join them in this festival of old time music hall favourites which range from 1823 to 1918. Using instruments that would have been available at the time of the originals they have crafted a delightful homage that will, depending on the age of the listener, revive memories of family sing-along's and the BBC light programme or intrigue at the sound of contemporary artists delving into this cornucopia of antique delights.
