One more weekend to go till our big event!  Have a good one whatever you do.  Rolling Stone reports: "Nada Surf will release their seventh album, The Stars Are Indifferent to Astronomy, on Barsuk Records on January 24th. The album, their first of new material in four years, finds the band working to capture their faster and more energetic live sound while in the studio. The first single, the guitar-driven "When I Was Young," is the band's exploration of the disconnect between childhood dreams and adult realities."

Americana 10 - Last Few Tickets Left!

Buckner, Eitzel and Richmond Fontaine headline americana-tastic line-up

If you still haven't got your tickets for Americana 10, our celebration of a decade of existence taking place in Liverpool a week on Saturday, then you'd better get your skates on as we've now sold over 90% of the 250 tickets for the event.  The event takes place over 3 different stages at the rather lovely CUC venue - the main stage is an amazing space split across two tiers, linked by a spiral staircase, featuring stunning stained glass, a vintage crystal chandelier, intricate wood panelling and spectacular views of Liverpool's waterfront.  There's a restaurant, café and real ale bars on site.  And if all that doesn't entice you, the line-up should do, with Richmond Fontaine (the acoustic version), Mark Eitzel, Richard Buckner, Danny & the Champs and the Toy Hearts playing amongst others.  For more information, head over to our dedicated page here.

Latest CD Review

  • Ian McFeron Time Will Take You Self Released, 2013

With a jingle of tambourine we get a likely candidate for album of the year – simple as. There is absolutely nothing, and I do mean nothing not to like. With a band comprised of Ryan’s Cardinals, alongside players from Patti Griffin and John Hiatt you’d expect nothing less. It’s the good bits of Dylan for sure, and Mellancamp – even bits of Lennon. There is an undercurrent of Petty in places, mostly it is just the best thing I’ve heard in a while.
