New Elliott Smith Documentary On the Way

Have a good weekend friends and Romans (and countrymen) (and countrywomen).  NME reports: "A new documentary about Elliott Smith is currently in the works. Heaven Adores You is being directed by Nickolas Rossi and as well as looking at the life and work of Smith, who passed away in 2003, it will also cover the impact that he has had on fans and fellow musicians since his death, reports Flavorwire."

New Springsteen Album "Almost Done"

with a European tour to promote it from May 2012

Rolling Stone reports: "After two years of downtime, Bruce Springsteen is roaring back in 2012: According to multiple sources, he is putting the finishing touches on an album that he will release in the first months of the new year. "He's mastering it right now," says Bob Seger, who spoke with Springsteen backstage at Seger's New York show this month. "He's says it's really unusual and that it's the best thing that he's done in years.""

Felice Brothers European Tour Postponed

all UK dates rescheduled

Thanks to Tom from Loose for the heads up on this in the forums.   A statement from the band: "A few days ago our brother Ian became very ill with a painful rash on his face and head. He was admitted to a hospital in Berlin and diagnosed with Shingles, and the doctors have strongly advised that he stay in the hospital for the rest of the week."

  • Hero & Leander "Tumble" Tapete, 2013

Attempting to be profound is a losing strategy, H&L just want to have a good time and entertain their audience whilst doing so; and it’s a manageable aim, a target they hit. This is their first full length and there’s a riot of influences that are jostling for attention and being worked through, it’s a kaleidoscopic good time. No party is complete without obligatory 1980’s references and there are many here, often oblique, the opening bars of ‘Soul to Soul’ (another reference?) have a bass sound that dominated, not quite Gino Palladino but not far off, add in a saxophone and you’re halfway to your school reunion.
