Lambchop, supported by and featuring Cortney Tidwell.

mr Wagner and friends: like floating on your back in a silky lake on a warm summer's day, while tiny fish nibble your toes. Heavenly.

Ms Tidwell a revelation. Equal parts of Jesse Sykes, Beth Gibbons and Patsy Cline. recommended.

Ryan Adams at the London Palladium. A beautiful theatre set aside "the Wizard of Oz" for an evening, for RA to perform a solo, acoustic set. The bulk of the time Ryan sat on a chair mid stage performing songs from across his back catalogue. Interspersed were some songs performed with a piano ( Rescue Blues , New York ). Finally he stood to perform a number of songs including a stunning performance of English Girls approximately from Love is Hell.

I seen Ryan a number of times over the years, and I'd say this was a real stand out performance. The set was balanced, he was very amusing and self deprecating . He also enjoyed the environment, which set the tone perfectly.

He returns next Monday, when Jason Isbell is the support act. I should add that Jason is performing a couple of solo shows in London on April 29 and May 1st in pub venues. Really looking forward to that.

PS while sitting at the Palladium I kept thinking of John Lennon at the Royal Variety Show back in the 60s telling the rich to rattle their jewellery, while the poor clapped. Sadly the gap between the two, still as vast.

Eilen Jewell, missed her the last two times she was in Malmö, so I was keyed up for this one.

What a voice, what a band, what a great sound and atmosphere they create.
Even better live than on disc, naughty and playful and having a fine time of it.
Particularly enjoyed the Loretta Lynn covers from Butcher Holler and the gritty, grinding version of Shakin' All Over that topped off the evening.

My mate hated it caling him in turn Bez's demented grandad
and a shit Mark e smith
It was very odd and i'm glad I left before cover versions of Green onions and I'd rather go blind

the handsomes once supported johnny dowd - i went to see them in birmingham and there were less than 20 people there, it was a great gig but shoddy turnout (many years ago now)

his new album has got a couple of terrifying songs on it - was gutted to miss the gig on monday
get lost in wonder with the lrm this summer

Johnny Dowd is an acquired taste

His song Wedding Dress is great

Trying to persuade my missus to be to have it played at our wedding reception at the end of the month . I'm losing at the moment
