Music Exchange 2.1: Voodoo

Postby Dangerbird » Sun May 25, 2008 10:01 pm

Music Exchange = a monthly round of music sharing based on a particular theme chosen by a nominated participant.

All n' sundry are invited to submit a tune based on said theme, which will then be compiled into a downloadable format for y'all listening enjoyment.

This month's theme, as chosen by Alicat is 'Voodoo'.

General rules:
1. No genre restrictions.
2. Only 1 tune per participant (bonus tracks will be ignored)
3. All files to be in mp3 format (128kbps or above)
4. All files to be titled as: 'Artist - Song Title'

Once you've made your selection, zip the tune up (using Winzip or some such) and email it to me at 'mex[a]ihug.com.au'. Deadline is June 21.

I will then and upload the finished compilation to YouSendIt (YSI) (http://www.yousendit.com).

For the uninitiated, you'll need to register at YSI, but don't fret, it's painless & free. When the compilation is ready you'll receive an email with a link to download it in a zip format.

Any questions, email me at the above address, or send me a PM.

Lookin' fwd to all y'all subs. :D

If we're only sending one file, surely there's no need to zip it, is there?

if you want to put something in Notepad (or some such) that's fine. i'll include it in the final zip version. alternatively, just wag your tongues on here.

There are a few shareware / freeware programs for pc when you google, are you using a Mac Dan? Can't ITunes do this? I think Media Monkey can, but unable to check at the moment.

Yeah I'm on a Mac... I'm sure I've done it iTunes before... but when I just tried it didn't work.

I'll work it out.

i've sent you an email with instructions to rip to mp3 - assuming you're using WMP.

If you stopped using a Mac all your troubles would disappear :?

I found out it's really easy to convert to mp3. Just the click of a button.
