Gotta disagree here. The man is Paul McCartney and whether one likes him or not, he has written some of the most popular songs in history. He was a member of one of the most globally popular bands of all time. Unfortunately two of those members are no longer with us so he is left to carry the flag. He is British and we should be proud of him. Yes, he is now 70, but in my opinion, having written those songs he is entitled to sing them wherever and whenever he wants. In this case it was the crowd that started singing and he joined in. Why not? Team GB was having a great day and so was Paul. What's wrong with having fun? If he'd ignored it and walked out everyone would have called him "rude" at the very least. It seems to me he is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

Believe it or not, there are many people in this world (but I hazard a guess not many on this site) who think that Bob Dylan should have given up years ago "because he is old and can't sing". How many times have we heard that? Thank God he hasn't given up.

All together now "Na Na Na Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na, Hey Jude.

Agree with The WIlbury here. Paul McCartney can do what the fuck he likes - a right he has earned over the years what with being a genius.

Well yes, I do take that point, it does look a bit strange, but on the other hand, he is 70 and he still has hair. Most men of his age would be searching around for some hair to dye.

Whilst on that subject, I know for a fact that certain members of another beat combo from that era, The Rolling Stones, have been dying theirs for about the last 30 years. Maybe Paul should follow in the footsteps of Keith Richards and start hanging ornaments from his hair.

I also seem to remember our man, Bob Dylan going through a phase of wearing a knitted hat over what appeared to be a blonde wig. What was all that about?

There are many many more bad hair jobs we can list. But it's like Paul V says, when you're a legend/genius you can basically do wtf you want.

David Bowie...dyed his when he didn't even need to.
Paul Simon? Very odd hair.....seemed to stick out at the back and suddenly seems to have disappeared.
Ozzie Osbourne? Still jet black? I doubt it.
Willie Nelson? He doesn't dye his does he? No, Does he?
Elton John.......um.........don't even go there.

And to finish on Paul McCartney again. He did warn us many years ago that he may use hair products in the future..........Remember his song, "Live and Get Dye!" and indeed his Beatles hit "Hair There and Everywhere" or how about "Yesterdye"? You see, there were clues all through his career.

Stephen Stills looks very blonde these days - Neil Young's hair has always been a mess much like Americana

Following exstensive research, I can now reveal that Paul McCartney has a whole "Anthology" of songs with secret "hair messages". This includes solo work and those written with Lennon. See how many you can spot.....

1) Eight Dyes a Week
2) A Hard Dyes Night
3) You're Gonna Lose That Curl
4) Live and Get Dye
5) Hair Band On The Run
6) Ladye Madonna
7) Comb Together (essentially a Lennon song, but he does get a credit)
8 ) Hair There and Everyhair
9) Things We Said Todye
10) It Won't Be Long (His hair of course!)
11) Day Trimmer (also known as Day Clipper)
12) What Goes On (hair products mainly)
13) Nohair Man
14) I Saw Hair Standing There
15) Let it Be (subtitled "I'll get it cut next Thursday)
16) Good Dye Sunshine
17) Another Dye
18) Another Curl
19) Penny Lane (think about it........"there's a barber showing photographs of every head he's had the pleasure to know")
20) Yesterdye
21) And Your Beard Can Sing (one of my favourites!)
22) Flaming Dye
23) Hello GoodDye
Consider this. If you remove one letter from his second band they would have been called Paul McCartney & Wigs......uncanny.
24) I Should've Combed Better
25) Big Barnet Bed (Cockney rhyming slang - Barnet Fair = Hair)
26) A Dye in The Life
27) Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Hairband
28) She's Leaving Comb
29) Hair Comes The Sun (I know, I know, George Hairyson wrote it, but Paul probably helped him)
30) Back in the USSR (Always thought this one was about the Soviet Union, but it transpires the initials stand for "Usual Shampoo & Set Ringo" who was then training to be a hairdresser in case The Beatles folded).
and that's about it folks........except for my absolute favourite one of all?

31) Mullet of Kintyre............. of course!

I really should try to get out a bit more.
