The Len Price 3 "Pictures" (Wicked Cool, 2010)

Straight, simple and refreshingly catchy
Out of the Medway comes the true British pop, garage three piece, The Len Price 3 with their latest release ‘Pictures’. Nothing overly technical or any need for intense listening, just straight, simple and a refreshingly catchy album crammed full of quirky tunes.
Saying this is a simple record doesn’t mean it lacks any drive or excitement, in fact far from it. The Len Price 3 carry with them a heavy sixties driving pop tone which is very reminiscent of The Hives and The Greenhornes but develop it along side a somewhat trade mark ‘doo wop’ style backing vocal and pump it full of energy which brings out the whole charm of the record.
Snap shots of the modern era make up the background of the song writing, in particular ‘Keep Your Eyes On Me’ is a prime example telling a tale of a ex-glamour model who is facing the torment of growing older and still trying to stay in the limelight. These are the things that add a likeable cheeky Cheshire grin to the entire album.
Straight forward, no nonsense garage pop delivered with character and charisma is what The Len Price 3 are all about, this is a band that doesn’t stray from their ideals and have created a record which is purely enjoyable.
