Halden Electric "Grace Under Pressure" (Home On The Range Records, 2009)

Halden Electric record made with some help from matchstick men
Halden Electric is the brain-child of Norwegian born Anders Svendsen. After many years as a musician and writer, Anders is ready to release his debut record.
Over the years Anders has dipped his toes into Americana (sessions with Bob Egan of Wilco and Blue Rodeo) and in a pop combo The Nuggets. 'Grace Under Pressure' was made in his own home, Home On The Range Studios in Norway; Halden Electric was the name of a matchstick factory in Svendsen’s home town and on first listening this record sounds a million miles away from Oslo. The band consists of local musicians playing an array of Americana instruments with Anders’s electric guitar to the forefront. Bearing in mind the roots of this music the quality of the songs and the sound is remarkable; this record is full of Americana references. From the blistering guitar on ‘Dead End’ to the lovely pedal steel on ‘Inside’ – Neil Young can be heard on the 'Harvest' feel of ‘Sweet Dreams’.
There’s much to enjoy on this record and Anders shows his love for this music and the many influences that have touched his muse.
